Golf Simulator Room Size Calculator: Will It Fit?

Before you buy a launch monitor, screen or enclosure, check the room. Enter your ceiling height, room width and depth, your own height and the type of launch monitor, and we flag anything that is likely to be tight.

Plan how much raw meat to buy and roughly how long the cook will take. Cook times are rough guides at 225–250°F; always cook to internal temperature, not the clock.

How the check works

Ceiling. A full driver swing needs more height than most people expect. We use your height plus about 3.5 feet as a rough target; a slow practice swing in the room is the real test.

Width. Around 10 feet is a practical minimum for one golfer hitting from an off-center spot. A centered hitting area that works for both right- and left-handed players usually needs about 14 feet.

Depth. Radar launch monitors sit behind the golfer and need ball flight to read the shot, so they want more depth than camera units that sit beside the ball.
